Thinking about what I should play next, and keeping in mind that it was only just under two months till Skyrim came out, I decided to boot up the old Morrowind (not Oblivion, I didn’t like Oblivion, too repetitive, boring, and content lacking). And when it became a chore to wade through this mob of enemies and that mob of enemies just to find out what happens next I stopped playing. I often see combat as a means to an end to get to the interesting story parts and after a while this game followed that same pattern. However the game itself started to become very repetative after a while. Most of them were graphical bugs, a couple of dialogue ones, but no game destroying ones so I was able to laugh at them and move on. And bugs? I counted fourteen, then stopped counting. I hate acting and am terrible at it, but I felt even I could have done a better job in some areas. The gameplay was pretty good at first, and the story line wasn’t bad, but the dialogue? It was hilariously bad, both the writing and the voice acting. Like gamers around the world, I’m holding my breath for when Skyrim comes out and I didn’t want to get swept up in a game only to abandon it when my shiny collector’s edition arrives.
But another part of it is my lack of attention span when it comes to games. Part of that is because it’s assessment time at uni, and I need to pull up my programming grade which means not leaving assignments to the last minute (I don’t program well when I’m stressed). Problem is, that hasn’t happened this month.
Thanks again. It’s normally around this time that I’ll have finished a game and be all eager to post a review on it. If OpenMW is the only way I can fix the GPU problem then hey at least it works. Also, I probably got something wrong in my post as I'm new to all of the terminology and methods. I was hoping to just use a mod manager like Vortex to do all the work for me.Īny tips? If I could get Morrowind to use my dedicated gpu and not the integrated graphics card I would use the vanilla and just mod from there. I did find a video of someone adding Rebirth to OpenMW so I see it's possible but had a ton of tedious steps. I searched for a guide on modding it and found a bunch of posts saying OpenMW is not the best and you should use S.T.E.P or this other version I can't remember (something like MKO or other abbreviation). I went ahead and downloaded it and got it running smoothly. After typing it into Google every possible way I could think of wording it and going through the first 5 pages each time I found something about OpenMW. Yesterday, after craving another go at Morrowind I tried to play it but ran into all this trouble. I downloaded the Graphics overhaul and everything was working before but I had super low fps and I actually not 100% sure my GPU was detected at the time.
MORROWIND GRAPHICS MOD STEAM TORRENT
I haven't played Morrowind for a while and I used to play it from a torrent (I know its terrible) but I bought Morrowind as soon as I got my laptop a few years ago. :)Īnyways, like the the horribly long and ugly title says, I'm confused haha. First off I hope everyone had a great time celebrating Christmas! I'd also like to go ahead and thank anyone for reading taking the time out of your day to read my post.
